Description
The above fractal is a new addition to the Fractal Rainbows gallery. It is a bit different from the classic rainbow ribbons pattern common for most abstracts in this gallery. The explanation follows.
The creation of galactic rainbows (a.k.a. fractal rainbows) can take millions of years. In the thick of gaseous nebulae outside our galaxy, condensation slowly occurs. Volatile gases combine to create a plasma-like gas that has prismatic properties. This newly uncovered fictitious phase of matter is now known as "the rainbow matrix" since it shines with intrinsic brilliance a million times more brightly than the sheen and prismatic brilliance found in Fire Opals on Earth.
The fractal rainbow above is in its earliest stages, still embedded within the rainbow matrix, lacking the staggering brilliance at this point in its development. An orange smolder can be seen at 2 points of the matrix where eddies have combined to create a vortex. This incipient phase is not unlike the pearlescent "tell" of opal-containing clays of Australia.
One form of precious opal is called the ribbon-pattern opal, with a spectrum of colors arranged in a mix of colored ribbons, while another form mixes the rainbow of colors in a cross-hatched fashion that is known as the straw-pattern opal.
Consider purchase of a large size of this abstract to provide the detail present, and combine it with a companion Fractal Rainbow abstract displaying the glorious and rich ribbons of colors widely sought after.
An intriguing colorful abstract for home or work, bound to be enjoyed by adults and children alike.
