String theory states that the universe consists of a wide variety of elementary particles which in turn are comprised of miniscule closed one-dimensional loops, circles, or strings.
The strings can be set to specific vibration modes and can act across time and space in
some instances. This so-called "string theory" must also explain the very fabric of space-time proposed by Einstein and others.
Large energetic events like supernovae or black hole or neutron star gravitational waves can rip open the fabric of space time. This fractal abstract depicts a small sheet of the shredded fabric in space. The strings or closed loops are seen dispersed through this fictional and fractally fantastic fabric.
Fractals! There is richness and wonder in endless repetition. The eye seems to hungrily seek out repeating patterns by instinct, while the mind assembles separate or even disparate pieces into a single cohesive whole. Fractal art spontaneously elicits a gratifying union of both processes. I create fractal art through a digital medium. I am drawn to making fractal images that evoke a sense of the familiar.
