Silvanus was a minor god of forests and woodlands. Worship in Roman times was confined to northern Italy, and he eventually was incorporated into the Celtic Pantheon of deities. The name eventually came to embrace all woodland deities, the Silvanae or Silvani.
This lovely design is a 20-panel kaleidoscopic manipulation of the Morgan Fractal original abstract fractal named "Sliver" which was designed as a starting block for a family of woodland-themed medallions or mandalas. This piece will look lovely framed in black and matted in white or fall colors. It will also be striking as a black-sided canvas print, for sizes up to 24" square. Fractals! There is richness and wonder in endless repetition. The eye seems to hungrily seek out repeating patterns by instinct, while the mind assembles separate or even disparate pieces into a single cohesive whole.
