Description
Spirolia is a fractal perennial plant that sprouts from the snow about the same time that the flowering crocus pops up. The plant's unique fictional fractal feature is it's well-developed "startle reflex".
Sudden noises or vibrations will scare the plant silly...the plant stalk telescopes up 3 feet, and the usually tightly twisted tendrils that serve as its blossom, when calm, explode in a frenzy with a whipping whirlwind motion. The tendrils release a chromophore that instantly creates a bright neon light. Presumably these three coordinated reflex maneuvers should startle the intruder (seems only fair...) but in reality seems a dubious defense mechanism. Three startles and the plant simply collapses and "plays dead".
This fractal abstract from the Botanicals gallery is a brilliant green and yellow. The vivid colors will look good just about anywhere. The fractal abstract can accommodate wall art sizes as large as 72" x 40".
