Artist's Description

I was so sleepy during the walk...lying down to take a nap seemed the thing to do. I slept soundly until dusk when I was awakened by a blood curdling howl nearby. The forest around had such a sinister look. Jagged branches, stark silhouttes against an orange backdrop. The macabre Mandelbrot Forest was no longer just a mathematical exercise...it was a stark and terrifying menace...no escape seemed possible from its infinite branching confines...a fractal cage. The joy that comes from uncovering the “familiar” while transforming fractals can be intense, similar to the “eureka!” moment of an epiphany. Many of my fractal designs are specifically created to mimic elements found in our daily lives. The most frequent themes of my work are candies, flora and fauna, machinery, and fanciful...
