This gorgeous fractal abstract is a stylized representation of a new and fictional variety of fractal orchid, the golden wheel orchid (also known as the Sunset Orchid). The golden palette coupled with a highly stylized fractal vortex with eight spiral arms, and four clear fractal levels. A fifth level can be viewed with large print size (30x24, or 40x32, or 50x40).
Fractals! There is richness and wonder in endless repetition. The eye seems to hungrily seek out repeating patterns by instinct, while the mind assembles separate or even disparate pieces into a single cohesive whole. Fractal art spontaneously elicits a gratifying union of both processes. I create fractal art through a digital medium. I am drawn to making fractal images that evoke a sense of the familiar. The joy that comes from uncovering the “familiar” while transforming fractals can be intense, similar to the “eureka!” moment of an epiphany.
