I was so sleepy during the walk...lying down to take a nap seemed the thing to do. I slept soundly until dusk when I was awakened by a blood curdling howl nearby. The forest around had such a sinister look. Jagged branches, stark silhouttes against an orange backdrop. The macabre Mandelbrot Forest was no longer just a mathematical exercise...it was a stark and terrifying menace...no escape seemed possible from its infinite branching confines...a fractal cage. The fractal abstract portrays the somewhat somber elements to this fractal forest. Rich detail should be explored with the green box. Large prints will pop with color and detail....and the black border is intriguing as it erupts in the first generation of fractal trees. Fractals, fractal, fractals...marvelous art.
Fractals! There is richness and wonder in endless repetition. The eye seems to hungrily seek out repeating patterns by instinct, while the mind assembles separate or even disparate pieces into a single cohesive whole. Fractal art spontaneously elicits a gratifying union of both processes. I create fractal art through a digital medium. I am drawn to making fractal images that evoke a sense of the familiar. The joy that comes from uncovering the “familiar” while transforming fractals can be intense, similar to the “eureka!” moment of an epiphany. Many of my fractal designs are specifically created to mimic elements found in our daily lives. The most frequent themes of my work are candies, flora and fauna, machinery, and fanciful...
